Swarovski Crystals – Making The Move
We had almost sold out of all our local crystal stock after a television broadcast featured one of our newest designs. The calls came pouring in and the petite crystals went shipping out. After day 1 we were literally down to a dozen and desperately needed to move two palettes of crystals from Maine to New Jersey where our shipping center was located. We began looking for dependable long distance movers NJ. We began asking the warehouse workers at our NJ shipping center if any of the parcel delivery companies we contract were capable of making the trip. To our surprise, they had very little feedback in regards to a qualified moving companies NJ. So, we took to the internet looking for moving companies NJ, that could make the haul in a day. The other very important variable is that the cargo is extremely fragile, and the movers must take extreme caution when loading and unloading the palettes. We finally located a moving crew that had both the credentials, and the time to make this move for us. We were ecstatic to say the least! We expected those palettes to contain thousands of our Swarovski crystals, those crystals then needed to be individually wrapped for shipment after they arrived. So getting them here was only part of the problem. We ended contacting a staffing service and hired some extra hands to help package the orders for shipment. The temp workers helped us prepare for the rush of orders that were going to follow the next day after the television segment re-aired in the local markets around the country. The last minute assistance of the moving company saved us from epic failure, everyone of our online orders were fulfilled, packaged & shipped the day of order. We have since rented an additional storage unit near our shipping hub to prevent this from happening again, if it does happen again maybe we will charter a jet and fly the crystals back to New Jersey. Anyway, for now I will consider it a lesson learned.
